Slain Editor To Be Buried Thursday, Says Family

  
The late Editor of the Anambra News Newspaper, Mr Ikechukwu Udendu, who was murdered by yet-to-be identified gunmen on Jan. 12, would be buried on Feb. 28.

The elder brother of the deceased, Mr Chukwulozie Udendu, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Onitsha.

 The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Udendu was murdered on Jan. 12, after he finished supervision of his editorial work in Onitsha.

His corpse was found dumped at Afor-Nkpor Market, close to his house in Ogidi community within Idemili North LGA, Anambra.

The statement said that the funeral rites would open with a vigil mass “at his father’s compound at No. 26 First Choice Avenue, Ogbeotu in Ikenga-Ogidi behind Buckingham Polytechnic, Ogidi at 5p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

``On Thursday, Feb. 28, his corpse leaves lyi-Enu Hospital mortuary, Ogidi for his father’s compound for lying-in-state and funeral service at St. Monica’s Catholic Church, Ogidi.

``Thereafter, interment follows and condolences,’’ the statement added,(NAN)
